Step 1. - Setting Up Your New Account
The first step is to choose one of our hosting plans that meets your
requirements, and then place your online order. Regardless of the plan you
choose, Basic, Power, Deluxe, business, or E-Commerce the remaining two steps
are identical. While placing your order choose the Transfer Existing Domain
Option, and then submit your order form once you've filled in all of the
required fields. Your credit card information will then be verified through
Cyber Cash on our secure connection and upon approval your domain will begin
setting up on our servers immediately. The setup process takes up to one
business day and once the setup is complete you will instantly receive a welcome
letter containing the new login information for your domain. Once this step is
complete your domain is setup on our servers, however it still points to your
old host.
Step 2. - Modifying Your DNS Information
Explanation of DNS: We apologize for the invention of the 3 letter acronym, but
we assure you this is not a difficult process. DNS simply stands for Domain Name
Servers. In short each domain name is told to point to a set of servers or
powerful computers that house your website. You must change the server names
that go with your domain name so that they are our servers. For example if your
old web host was badhost.com - their server names were probably NS.BADHOST.COM
and NS2.BADHOST.com. The NS in front stands for Name Server, and it's always
placed in front of a server name so that you can easily tell it apart from a
regular domain name such as your own. Our goal is to change these Name Servers
for your domain to:
NS1.WWWROOT7.NET
NS2.WWWROOT7.NET
These are our DNS or Domain Name Servers.
Making The Change: All you have to do is contact the Domain Registrar - (the
company you registered your domain through ) and provide them with our name
server information. This is usually done online by filling out a DNS or Name
Server Modification form that submits to the domain registrar with the proper
changes to the DNS information.
Your new DNS information should be:
NS1.WWWROOT7.NET
NS2.WWWROOT7.NET
Once you submit your DNS modification it should take effect within 24-48 hours.
You can test this by typing in your domain and seeing if it takes you to your
new site on our servers. If it has been longer than 48 hours and your site does
not appear please contact technical support via Live Chat, Telephone, or email
at support @ hsehosting.net and one of our support technicians will be glad to
provide assistance.
Step 3. - Closure
Once your domain modifications are complete and your domain name is working with
your new hosting account on our servers you can finally cancel your old hosting
account and enjoy our award winning services at unbeatable prices.
